This November is your opportunity to vote YES
to building a stronger, safer and
healthier community.
SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) is not a new tax in Forsyth County but a continuation of a powerful tool for funding essential community projects without increasing property taxes. By allocating a portion of the sales tax collected within Forsyth County, SPLOST provides the financial resources needed to improve public infrastructure, enhance safety, and support community services.
Means that important infrastructure projects can be funded without creating pressure on homeowners.
Means that road and public safety enhancements can be funded by non-residents since 34% of every dollar spent in Forsyth County is paid by visitors
Means that county planning for public safety, roads and parks does not have to be minimalized
$75 million of funds raised will be allocated for Park & Recreation enhancements. These spaces are critical for community engagement, physical activity, and improving the overall quality of life in Forsyth County.
$86 million of funds raised will be allocated for Public Safety Increases. SPLOST will ensure that first responders have the tools and resources needed to keep
Forsyth safe.
$122 million of funds raised will be allocated for Road Improvements. Transportation improvements will be critical for maintaining quality of life and supporting local businesses.
Since first approved in 1987, past SPLOST programs have provided funding for a number of important infrastructure projects that otherwise may not have been possible, like Forsyth County’s new Denmark Library.
